About Monika Rose
Monika Rose, AIGA, is an Illustrator and Graphic Designer located in San Jose, CA. After several stints at various Bay Area “start-ups” she decided to pursue freelance projects. After a few years as a freelancer, she decided it was time to venture out and open her own illustration and design studio.
Monika has approximately 15 years of experience. Her clients include local municipalities and non-profits such as NASA, City of San Jose Environmental Services Dept (SJESD), The American Society of Interior Designers (CA Peninsula Chapter), International Children’s Assistance Network, Zero Graffiti International and MACLA, to name a few. Her clients also include small businesses and large corporations such as Paul J Gonzalez Art Studios, Creche Salon, This Stuff Works, Ecstatic Wellness and most recently SV Home.
Her illustration work can be seen in public spaces within San Jose, including two "art boxes", two "deco prints" designed for SJESD, located on the parking lot asphalt at Roosevelt Community Center. Other public pieces she has assisted on for projects with artist, Paul J Gonzalez, can be seen at various bay area parks and schools.
Her creative philosophy is to design with intuition. While she follows a standard design process she also listens carefully to her clients requests she uses intuition as a tool to help meet her clients needs. She pays special attention to subtle implications and "reads between the lines" in order give her clients more than they asked for. Monika believes that when order and process are combined with intuition, creativity is at its best.
